Florida Forest Service Asking Residents Not To Burn

Posted

Bunnell, FL - With abnormally dry and windy conditions today (March 31), the Florida Forest Service says they will not authorize any burning for residents of Flagler, Volusia and St. Johns counties.

There is no burn ban in place at this time but residents are asked to use extreme caution with any ignition source which includes things like, outdoor grilling, mowing and vehicles (ATV's) in dry grass.

Homeowners and communities are urged to clean dry/dead vegetation from around your homes, on your roofs and gutters and to remove any flammable materials from around the outside of your home and if at all possible, PLEASE DO NOT BURN yard debris.

Wildfire activity is on the increase. Winds are expected to shift around to the north this evening but will still be around 15 mph. You can check out the Florida Forest Service Wildfire Dashboard by clicking here
